Oh! Oh! Exciting news! My spring break is coming up (I get the Friday and Monday bookending Easter weekend...I'm not sure this counts as a real spring break), and I'm flying to DC to visit my college roommate!

I'm probably going to miss the cherry blossoms because they were early this year, but otherwise! Otherwise it's going to be fantastic!

I'm definitely going to see the Lincoln Memorial - I'm going to get my Mr. Smith Goes to Washington on; I've rented the movie to watch again I go so I can get it just right. (If I had thought this through properly I would have rewatched some West Wing episodes before going, too. Alas!)

And we'll probably tour the rest of the National Mall while we're there (or at least as much of it as you can see in a few hours without falling over...)

But what else should I see? THERE'S SO MUCH ELSE THERE. The Smithsonian! The National Gallery! THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS. SO MANY BOOKS. There's an arboretum! And a botanical garden! And and and and...how will I ever decide?

Yay! :) I'm so glad you get to go! It's a trip you'll always remember. <3 I highly recommend the Holocaust Memorial Museum as I found it to be a very eye-opening experience and definitely any Smithsonian Museums you have the time to visit (each of them can easily take half a day or more just to walk through!). Definitely any Memorials you can see too -- I went to see the Lincoln and World War II Memorials during my visit there last year. You'll probably end up doing a TON of walking but it's all worth it! :) Have tons of fun and can't wait to hear about your trip! I would love to go back and see the cherry blossoms. <3

We're definitely doing the National Mall, so at very least I'll see the memorials! Hopefully we'll have time to at least pop into the Smithsonian - one of my friends had an internship there a couple years ago, which must have been just awesome.

Awesome! :) Have fun and I can't wait to hear all about your trip once you get back! Makes me yearn to go to DC again and explore! :) You'd probably need to be there at least a week to see everything -- it's incredible!
