Loring Pasta Bar

osprey_archerMy aunt and I went to the best restaurant this weekend! We visited the University of Minnesota (or the U, as it's locally known) for research for my book, and we stopped at the Loring Pasta Bar while we were there. Long ago it was a drug store, with apartments above, where Bob Dylan lived and wrote "Positively 4th Street."
(At least, that's their story. New Yorkers claim Dylan wrote "Positively 4th Street" in their bailiwick.)
Either way. The Loring Pasta Bar was having a Sunday brunch buffet! I love buffets, because you get to try so many different things rather than tying yourself down to one entree. I got Caesar salad - I've never had Caesar salad before - it's pleasant enough, but I think a whole bowl of it might get monotonous. And marinated mussels, and delicious crispy bacon, and mushrooms stuffed with sausage, and...
CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES.
I forwent the miniature creme brulees in order to have more stomach space for chocolate covered strawberries. Because chocolate covered strawberries are the perfect food.
Not only was the food excellent, but the decor was beautiful. This is the bathroom:
That's not a bathroom. That's a grotto.
And what's this, on the wall?
The visit to the U itself was not that helpful, but I may have a climactic scene occur in the Loring Pasta Bar.
