Bookstore!

osprey_archerAlso in the world of books: I am fulfilling a lifelong dream. I have a job at a bookstore!
And by a job I mean a volunteering gig at the local used bookstore, but it's like a job because I'm required to volunteer by Americorps (because Americorps thinks I am an Energizer bunny who never needs to sleep) and THEREFORE I am getting paid for it, sort of, indirectly.
In other news: one of my college friends might possibly be getting a job a mere three hours away from me. Hooray! I'll have a social life! Of the "Once a month we meet and eat something delicious in Minneapolis" variety, but hey, that's something! She's my foodiest college friend, so I think that would work out well, too.
Also she would be employed at a job she really wants, doing science. And that would be cool for its own sake. Fingers crossed!

Date: 2011-09-28 12:24 am (UTC)I sort-of-worked at a used bookstore in high school, but it was a ghetto place filled almost completely with romance novels. When I started, the fiction section lacked any order beyond "not romance."
I imagine your adventure will be much more mainstream. :)
Also, it's a well-known fact that sleep is for communists.
