High Top Fade Out
Sep. 4th, 2011 08:26 pmHey, you know what's awesome? Yesterday I said I wanted a musical Psych episode, and today I watched the next episode and it involved SINGING! A cappella rather than show tunes but WHO CARES, a cappella is AMAZING and Shawn and Gus SING! (Dule Hill has a really nice voice, too.)
Also, we get more about Gus's Secret Past. I love that Gus has all this history that not only has nothing to do with Shawn, but that Shawn hasn't even heard of - not only because it enriches his character (which is excellent of itself, because Gus is sometimes overshadowed by Shawn's antics), but because it means that Gus gets to put one over on Shawn for once.
I love Shawn, but I always feel a great satisfaction when someone gives him a smack-down.
Also, Shawn & Gus's epic bromance is epic. Shawn comments that he worries sometimes that he and Gus will have a falling out, and Gus rolls his eyes and is all, "Shawn. Don't you realize that if none of the myriad of stupid, selfish, and ultimately life-threatening stunts you've pulled in the last four years haven't done it, it's probably not going to happen."
Awwwwww. Okay, maybe that's not making most people's Sweetest Things Ever Said list, but I love that it shows that Gus has no illusions about Shawn and Shawn's many, many flaws, but will be his best friend forever nonetheless.
(This quote also exemplifies why, although I think Shawn and Gus are adorable, I've never been able to slash them. The kind of love Gus feels for Shawn, affection heavily salted by forbearance, couldn't survive the incessant togetherness of coupledom.)
