It's one of my great sorrows that I didn't keep a diary during high school. I feel like rereading it would provide me with endless enjoyment.
(Actually, this entry is very much the way I talked in high school. Was it the exclamation points that tipped you off? Occasionally my friends would lend me books that they loved, which I would proceed to pan at great velocity. O.O I have very forgiving friends.)
I have no idea if the estimable Jane has any relationship to Dick Turpin. The books don't seem to be available anywhere, and I want to read one to see if it's actually all that horrid.
But if Jane was Dick's granddaughter, I think the books would get a stack of not-horrid points just for that.
