Hmmm...gotta disagree here. Linnea and Luisa won't be confused auditorily, but visually--yeah, I think they will. The L, I and A appear almost in the same spots within each.
Linnea and Elena SOUND quite the same, but visually, they'd be less confusing for the simple fact that they begin with different letters--Although, there is enough similar about them to warrant NOT taking the chance.
Is there a reason you're attached to these names? Because if you like the sounds, you can do Linnea and Helena without risking confusion. Even Linnea and Heloisa.
The second name needs to be Spanish or Italian (or, better, both), so unfortunately Helena and Heloisa won't work. *sighs dramatically* The trials of naming!
But neither Elena or Luisa have a really convenient nickname, anyway, which was already a strike against them.
