I enjoyed the Felix trilogy (much more historically straightforward than the Wolves series) and Arabel and Mortimer adventures (I haven’t read them all; they’re aimed a bit younger, in approximately the here-now (London-ish edition), with a fair bit of improbable happenings (Mortimer is a raven who says “nevermore”, and eats things most would not consider edible….). Much lighter than either Felix or Wolves.
