One feels that the judging committee said "something something TRAUMA" (I didn't think the handling of trauma was that great either actually! Simon is apparently triggered by rooms with only one door but that describes literally every classroom in his new school and it doesn't seem to cause problems!) "something something DIVERSITY" "something something TACKLING THE DIFFICULT SUBJECT OF SCHOOL SHOOTINGS" and somehow somethinged themselves into making this one a runner-up.
