YES the line actually makes so much more sense with Octavia than Dolabella tbh. Of course Cleopatra has no idea who Dolabella is (I certainly don't know who Dolabella is) but Octavia... oh yes she does!
TBH if theaters approached modern staging the way they tend to approach, say, "I'm going to set this in the 1930s!", where they really commit to the aesthetic of it all, I might take to it more. But they gotta commit! None of this half-assed "we're all wearing flak jackets but we fight with swords" business.
