They did! But the MacDevon was a hundred years old when he died and old-fashioned (and possibly also none too well off), so he never had electricity put into the castle, so the Boggart only encountered it on the rare occasions that he accompanied the MacDevon to the local store on his bimonthly shopping trips.
The MacDevon did occasionally bring back ice cream, which the Boggart very much enjoyed.
