Greetings New DWers
Dec. 6th, 2018 04:21 pmThere have been quite an influx of new people on DW in the last few days, as well as the return of a few other sojourners to Tumblr, so I thought it would be a good time to say hello! And welcome!
My big project this year has been to watch more movies by women directors (I’m closing in on 100!) so there have been quite a lot of movie posts recently, but I do post also about books. Also occasional posts about my writing projects, food, my attempts at gardening (my Christmas cactus is actually blooming this winter, it’s a Christmas miracle), and sundry other things that take my fancy. But mostly it’s books and movies.
I also have two pen names on Amazon: Jennifer Montgomery for sweet het romances (I’ve got my two Christmas-iest books on sale for 99 cents right now: Holiday Blend and The English Breakfast Affair, which is not about an affair at all; it’s a study abroad romance in Yorkshire with no infidelity whatsoever, very poorly named, past self) and Aster Glenn Gray for everything else, which currently amounts to a World War II-era m/m retelling of Beauty and the Beast called Briarley. There will be more eventually. Someday!
In fact, I’ve been searching Shutterstock for cover images recently, as my flatmate has kindly agreed to make me covers for Christmas. Naturally I’ve finding wonderful covers for all sorts of things that I’ve never written, like a really splendid picture for a Little Red Riding Hood retelling where the wolf is a werewolf and Little Red falls in love with him (her?). I should write that, shouldn’t I? That could be rather splendid. I will try really hard not to end it “and then they froze to death together in the snow.”
