A Very Juliet Episode
Sep. 14th, 2011 08:48 pmI'm a bit meh about A Very Juliet Episode as a whole, but the scene where Lassiter gives Juliet love advice? BEST SCENE EVER. "All romance ultimately ends in despair," he says, and expounds upon this theme, while Juliet nods bemusedly.
And then, thinking he's showered her with pearls of heart-warming wisdom, he says, "I feel a hug coming on!" In a tone that suggests that he knows Juliet is a huggy person, and is therefore prepared to be hugged by her, (and possibly also wants to be hugged to prove that he's a good confidant, not that he'd admit it ever).
And Juliet, because all this is so very Lassiter and she is comforted by that if nothing else, hugs him.
It occurs to me that this is a recurring theme in Psych - your real friends are the ones who see through your bullshit, yet find it vaguely endearing if only for its constancy.
(I should get a Psych icon. And possibly also post more often about non-Psych things? BUT I HAVE SO MUCH TO SAY.)
