Happy Mother's Day!
May. 8th, 2011 12:33 pmHappy Mother's Day!
My brother and I got my mother fancy coffee - or rather, as he lives in Florida, I got deputized to purchase fancy coffee on his behalf as well as my own.
I love coffee shopping. I'm not a fan of actual coffee, which never tastes as delicious as it smells, but I love opening up jars and jars of coffee beans and sticking my nose in them and falling over backward in surprise as the amaretto coffee explodes in my nose.
I suspect this was somewhat more adorable when I was ten.
Also, my dad gave my mom a voucher to go to Turkey to visit her best friend, who married a Turkish fellow and moved to Turkey and fell out of touch, because this was back before the internet. But they reconnected through Facebook - who says Facebook never does anything good? - and now she's thinking about going.
I might go too. O.o I might teach English there next year. I hate that I don't have a plan for next year; I've always had a plan for next year before. (Because I've always been in school before. That doesn't make this less unnerving.)
