I really ought to have a gander at it just to see how much they've rewritten... except that in order to really tell, I'd have to get an older version to compare and contrast, and it's a Very Long Book and just thinking about it makes me feel tired because it's so much work for a book that I doubt is widely read anymore, except possibly among homeschooling circles?, as a comment above suggests.
