Tea Parties

Emma came to the Eyrie for tea today! We've been debating whether I ought to call my apartment the Dovecote or the Eyrie - it being on the second floor, the name has to be bird related - but I've decided on Eyrie because, well, osprey.

Besides, Dovecote sounds rather more like a cottage, don't you think?

Tea, and lentil soup, and sandwiches with ham or salami and brie. Also clementines - I really liked how they looked, all opened out, like flowers.

Actually they're clementines, not oranges (and I've also heard them called tangerines). They look lovely in the sun.

It's been a week of tea parties: I had one of my cohort come over for Wednesday tea, and tomorrow another girl is coming for pre-opera tea. I ought to make scones for that...the opera is Xerxes, does anyone have any ideas for appropriately themed pastries?

Someone really does love tea.

I do! And I am attempting to drag all my friends into it with me.

I always love seeing pictures of your tea parties! I love how you've set everything up -- makes me want to join too! <3 :D

So we shall! I would love to! :)

Eyrie is perfect!

(Clementines & tangerines are totes different things!)

Clementines & tangerines are totes different things!

To quote Shawn: "I've heard it both ways." (Ha! How long have I wanted to say that?)

Actually I am perfectly in accord with you on this. But the tangerine=clementine girl seemed very certain about her designation, so I thought perhaps it was a regional variation.

Tangerines are a lot more tart (in my experience). Clementines taste more like, well, mandarins.

Clearly I should have a blind taste-testing. For SCIENCE!

[identity profile] entwashian.livejournal.com 2013-02-02 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
CLEARLY!

The second photo is so lovely and airy! (The first as well, but I focused on the second)

The clementines look almost too pretty to eat, don't they? Ethereal, as if they are not quite there.

Baklava maybe?

[identity profile] osprey-archer.livejournal.com 2013-02-03 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, that would work!
