My Quilt

You know what tastes good? Sharp cheddar cheese with dates.

Admittedly, sharp cheddar cheese tastes good with pretty much everything. But with dates it is magnificent.

Also, because [livejournal.com profile] exuberantself asked: a photo of the quilt my mom made me.

Isn't it lovely?

I don't actually exist; I'm a computer feedback loop ^_^

This explains...absolutely nothing, actually. THE COMPUTER FEEDBACK LOOPS WALK AMONG US!

I LOVE DATES.

That quilt is gorgeous. The colors make it look like a little ray of sunshine that you can wrap yourself up in.

DATES ARE THE VERY BEST.

I had to send the quilt home for repairs this year, and after it was gone my roommate was all, "The sunshine has gone out of the room. Woe!"

Also...I kind of hate to ask this...but I'm working on a Yuletide story and I think it kind of goes off at the end but I can't decide whether I need to scrap the end or just rewrite it. Do you have time to read it? It's about 2500 words & you've probably seen the movie. *puppy dog eyes*

You mean I get to read a Yuletide fic early?!?!

My e-mail is in my userinfo. :)

Thank you thank you thank you thank you!

I have sent it.

It's absolutely lovely and it reminds me of sharp cheddar cheese. Mmm cheese.

Cheese is amazing. I have become a cheese person this fall. (Or perhaps I just finally noticed that I am a cheese person.)

Lovely quilt, and mmmm nom nom nom for the cheese and dates.

Cheese and dates: food of the gods.

I got a cute little Xmas card in the mail today! It made me smile and squee. Thank you, darling!

QUILT.

Your gaze is like a tractor beam. It is sucking the quilt through the screen. Stay, sweet quilt! Stay!

What I love about quilting is that it rewards simplicity. That is a gorgeous, gorgeous quilt, with a nine-patch block. I love it.

My mother is very talented!

[identity profile] exuberantself.livejournal.com 2010-12-30 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
My dad and I have decided that Vermont white cheddar is so good that it qualifies as dessert.

I feel awful, by the way, that I'm so late in even seeing this post given that I'm the one who asked for the picture. It's awesome, of course, and I love the colors. Did you say the stars are purple? They look a little blue here and I can't help but thinking how lovely and unexpected either are with the orange and yellow (despite the fact that they're adjacent and complementary colors). Clearly your mother is awesome.

[identity profile] osprey-archer.livejournal.com 2010-12-30 02:33 am (UTC)(link)
The stars are in fact purple and blue swirls with little white stars. So it's both!

I think a lot of people are afraid to work with orange and purple because they're so bold. But I think they add real punch to anything they're in.
