Excellent review (... speaking as someone who has yet to read the book--though she wants and intends to!--but what I mean is, as a work on its own, it's an excellent review!) and well worth the wait!

I really find the question of personal loyalties and emotional connection versus abstract moral principles *fascinating*, so I'm sure I will love that aspect of this book.
