Yeah, I also felt like this book wasn't quite what I hoped for -- I can maybe see the way it influenced young-me's writing, but also I can see why it didn't make as big an impression on me. All the well-done things are very well-done, but I was also invested in Erin's real-world life and so the time-slip wasn't as exciting as I'd otherwise have found it.
