I feel there are moments in some of the animated movies (the one that jumps into mind is the song "Reflection" in Mulan), but (1) a melancholy moment is not the same as a melancholy mood pervading a work, and (2) possibly this didn't happen till after the era of The Sword in the Stone, anyway.
