I still very desperately want to force someone who's done more research to do an essay about this book and The Once and Future King and Arthuriana and politics and WWII and then let me read it, because the way both books use selective anachronism in order to force a reader to look at this Very Weird, Epic and Magical Tragedy through Very Jaded and Modern (Midcentury) Eyes is so fascinating to me! Mitchson clearly has got Things to Say about war and propaganda and modernity and I love that she chose this incredibly weird way to say them.
