DUH I forgot about MASH! Altho not to be picky, but I think that is more a mix of War is Brutal and fun hijinks among a group of people who aren't soldiers -- they're surgeons first, dealing with the effects of war. From what I remember, the movie MASH (which was disappointingly sexist) is all rather low humour, sort of like National Lampoon's Korean War Vacation. -- I don't mean to quibble about the Quadrant theory, I just personally find the idea of a war comedy in the actual field of combat kind of fascinating. Maybe only because I can't think of many of them, lol.
