Unfortunately brain fried, can't word, but these books sound interesting. Yay for ultimately happy endings— life returns after volcanic destruction; even though Siegal's memoir ends where it does you know she survived because, y'know, memoir; Irme gives a gay couple a happy ending in 1906 (!!).
