I'll let you know if I come across any information. In many ways Civil War medicine strikes me as alarmingly casual, so for all I know they just sent amputees home willy-nilly, but it was also the first American war where there was actually concerted government effort to connect amputees with artificial limbs, so it wouldn't surprise me if they made a stab at doing a little PT too.
