I like to imagine that at least some of the other operators find this mildly amusing and it distracts this from the dullness of sitting in their tiny telegraph room every day, but you know there's got to be at least one and probably more who are absolutely "OH MY GOD SHUT UP AND GET A ROOM" about it. Such is the nature of workplace romances. Particularly workplace romances that involve lots and lots of beeping.
