Your review makes this sound like a much better book than what I've heard from other people! As you unfortunately but accurately predict, everyone else talking about this book has boiled it down to 'no one should take antidepressants ever'. Personally, I've been helped a lot by antidepressants, so I get annoyed when people dismiss them. But like you say: why not both approaches! Addressing societal-wide sources of stress and loneliness sounds like a great idea.
