You CAN wall off a lot of an island, probably, technically, but you'd need a lot of labor and time, and also a lot of bricks.

I have an irrational a completely rational prejudice against books that are "The [Profession]'s Daughter" or "The [Profession]'s Wife." Every time I see a new one, I think, "not AGAIN." I'm sorry it was disappointing, though. :(
