I was going to comment that 'shallow' is a characteristic of many young, and old, men, I find on reading on in your post, Shawn is a particular (pardon my language) lying bastard.

My first wife fell for one of these bozos, and tho I many times wished him to perdition, I kept the peace as she requested, and let her make her own way, as is her right.
