BISCOTTI BISCOTTI

I made biscotti! This venture did not go quite as well as I hoped because, despite twisting, jerking, cursing, and yanking, I couldn't get my vanilla bottle open and therefore had to make the biscotti without. They're tasty but a little flat.

However! Next time, I'll have the vanilla, because FINALLY I hit on a brainstorm, activated my kettle, and held the vanilla bottle above the whistling spout. Ta-da! The cap apologetically unscrewed.

I'm also thinking about adding some almond extract next time. And more almonds and chocolate chips generally - I put in about a half cup of each and it wasn't quite enough. More is always better! Once I've got the recipe perfect I'll share it with you.

(I need a food icon. Must go on the prowl.)

Also I watched Bride and Prejudice. Someone on my flist recommended it to me - was that you, [livejournal.com profile] bogwitch64? - and it is AWESOME and everyone should watch it. It's by the woman who directed Bend It Like Beckham (which is even awesomer) and it's Pride and Prejudice BUT WITH DANCING.

And the girl who played Rory Gilmore is in it. I keep meaning to watch all of the Gilmore Girls but IT NEVER HAPPENS because there are TOO MANY TV SHOWS woe.

I came across Bride and Prejudice first. I'm not sure which I like more, but I do note that I may have to order another DVD of Bend It Like Beckham in the near future. Nice, both of them!

They're both amazing - pure fun, but rich enough that you can watch them over and over again.
