I think whether Ammeri and Arenyay get confused might depend on how individual the two characters are and how many characters, total, are in your story. I would pronounce them A-mer-EE and Erin-YAY. With Ammeri, I can't decide whether to pronounce the first vowel like the "a" in "cat" or the "a" in "father."
