A Chain of Hands should be right up your alley! Brink writes about the people she knew so vividly and with such care, even the ones she didn't like at the time (her aunt who abandoned her two children) or had a fraught relationship with (her other aunt, who adored her and filled her childhood with fun, but had trouble letting go when Brink grew up). And her reminiscences about her friends are so delightful.
